Technology-driven cosmetic company SEOHO LAB Co., Ltd. (CEO: Lee So-hee) has partnered with the Skin Immunology Laboratory at Sookmyung Women’s University, led by Professor Kim Kyung-eun, to develop next-generation high-functional beauty solutions.

SEOHO LAB recently announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Sookmyung Women’s University to promote the advancement of the cosmetic industry and the cultivation of specialized talent. This agreement was established to combine the proprietary technologies and research infrastructures of both institutions in order to develop innovative products grounded in strong scientific evidence.

The core focus of this partnership lies in novel ingredient research based on skin immunology. Under the guidance of Professor Kim Kyung-eun, the Skin Immunology Laboratory at Sookmyung Women’s University has produced advanced fundamental research outcomes related to immune modulation and skin barrier reinforcement. SEOHO LAB plans to integrate these academic source technologies with its proprietary strengths in nanoparticle formulation technologies and active ingredient delivery systems.

Over the next five years, the two institutions will engage in multifaceted cooperation, including:

  • Joint research on cosmetic novel ingredients and formulation technologies

  • Support for student field training programs and internship opportunities

  • Sharing of advanced academic knowledge and research equipment

In particular, as an official family company of Sookmyung Women’s University, SEOHO LAB aims to establish an integrated industry–academia collaboration model that generates tangible business outcomes in collaboration with highly skilled academic talent.

CEO Lee So-hee of SEOHO LAB stated,

“We are delighted to collaborate with Professor Kim Kyung-eun’s team, which possesses outstanding research capabilities in the field of skin immunology. Going beyond simple product development, we aim to set a new standard for evidence-based premium cosmetics recognized in the global market through deep and meaningful joint research with academia.”

Having recently completed NMPA registration for four key products in China and signed an export agency agreement with Chongqing GBC, SEOHO LAB continues to expand its global footprint. Through this industry–academia collaboration, the company plans to further strengthen next-generation technological capabilities and elevate the global standing of K-Beauty.
