SEOHO LAB Participates in Practical Training Ahead of Mandatory Cosmetic Safety Assessments in 2028
Attended Briefing Hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety and KTR to Establish a Proactive Regulatory Response System
Strengthening Practical Capabilities in Preparation for the Mandatory Safety Assessment System Scheduled for 2028
SEOHO LAB Co., Ltd. participated in the “Preliminary Briefing on Mandatory Cosmetic Safety Assessments” hosted by the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and the Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) Global Consumer Goods Center, proactively responding to upcoming regulatory changes.
Beginning in 2028, Korea plans to implement a mandatory safety assessment system for cosmetics. Under the revised Cosmetics Act, all cosmetic products will be required to secure safety assessment documentation prior to distribution and sale. SEOHO LAB attended the nationwide briefing session held on April 29 at IBS Tower in Songdo, where the company gained comprehensive insights into practical domestic safety assessment strategies as well as international regulatory trends in regions including Europe and China.
SEOHO LAB has already been selected for support programs related to European CPNP and U.S. FDA-MoCRA registrations, strengthening its global certification foundation. Through this early preparation for Korea’s upcoming safety assessment regulations, the company is further enhancing both domestic and international regulatory response capabilities.
A representative from the cosmetic quality management team stated, “Cosmetic safety regulations are becoming increasingly stringent both domestically and internationally, making thorough preparation a key competitive advantage,” adding, “Ahead of the system’s implementation, we will continue building a comprehensive safety assessment framework across our entire product portfolio.”
